I just want to express my appreciation for the Titanico saddle. I have logged 80 miles with it in the first two days of its arrival, and I can only say that it exceeds my expectations. Being of the age bracket where prostatitis has become recognized, this bicycle saddle provides pressure relief and riding comfort unlike any of the other saddles that I have tried, and they have been numerous! Many thanks for a well researched and crafted product. Fletcher M. Lancaster, NH

Recently I purchased a Selle An-Atomica Titanico saddle.  Last week I tried it for the first time finishing a 75 mi. ride without any significant discomfort and with very few adjustments.  I had been using a Brooks B-17 before that.  This past weekend (my second ride on the saddle) I completed a 4 day tour of 450 mi. without any discomfort other than something that was fixed by a minor adjustment to the angle of the saddle nose.  This seems to be a good saddle for me and others in my club.  I will certainly recommend it. Ron A. Ottawa, Canada

Guys, Thank you so much for developing this saddle!  I now have about 300 miles on it and it is a dream.  Like many have said, you need to invest a little time to get it “right”, but even when not perfect, it is still a hell of a lot better than most others.  And when properly tensioned and fitted it is amazing. My buddies laughed at the sight of leather and copper on my carbon Specialized Roubaix Pro, but who’s doing all the laughing at the end of 50 miles, huh?  Me!  Again, great product that really lives up to the hype. Thanks, Dave J. Cambridge, MA

Tom -- Have I told you how much I enjoy the saddle you gave us for the photo used at Interbike several years ago? So much that I bought two more saddles! I had not really used it until I restored a 1983 Specialized Expedition. I have more than 600 miles on the saddle, including the recent Clearlake Tour. I've never been so comfortable on a saddle! Thanks again -- great product! Steve M., Davis, CA.

Bought one of your saddles from Rivendell a few months ago and wanted to give it some time to see if it lived up to it's claims. I have now put several hundred miles on the saddle and one full century and find it is a terrific saddle. The first thirty miles are total comfort; later I can tell I am sitting on something but it is not terrible like the saddle it replaced (Specialized Body Geometry) or the saddle on my other bike (Ideale (can't read the number anymore)). I weigh 204 so I was concerned about the saddle stretching but, so far, I haven't had to adjust it at all. I am very pleased with this product. I am especially pleased that it is made in the USA and in one of my favorite states. Good job guys! Jerry S

I have grown to depend on my Selle An-Atomica. I bought a new bike, a "need" (as I explained to my wife) inspired by an upcoming trip to Vietnam for which a touring bike rather than a road or mountain bike is ideal.  I thought a black saddle will look better on the new bike (which is dark grey with some orange highlights). Early in the summer, I had a very low speed crash involving me going over the handlebars when a little kid suddenly came out of nowhere into my path on a bike trail.  It was an acrobatic performance that should have received a combined score of about 8.9, but that instead led to a bit of skin loss, a cracked helmet, some shoulder bruising and a bent frame rail on my beloved ostrich saddle.  I did the best I could to straighten the bent rail, but probably did not do enough. Bud S, Iowa

This is my second saddle from you. The first is on my solo bike and is a vast improvement. This new one is for my wife on the back of our tandem, me hoping the improved comfort will persuade her to come out more often. I met someone on an audax ride in September who spotted my saddle straight off and said he'd met you on PBP, sounded very impressed with the bamboo bike. Regards, Steve B, UK

Dear Tom, I am pleased to report that I completed PBP'07 on one of your saddles without any problems whatsoever. I first tried Selle An-Atomica in June before our 600K after continuing to have issues breaking in my Brooks Team Pro even after 3500 miles. Of all the issues facing us this year on PBP, I must say that my saddle contact points were the least of my concerns. The water-proof Titanico performed very well during the 4 rainy days we had. Thanks for all your research that went into a very comfortable saddle! Thank you very much for the nice PBP Selle An-Atomica pin stuffed in my saddle one morning at the Campanille. That was a nice surprise! Best Regards, George W, PBP'07 Ancien, Highland, MD

Tom, Congrats on your PBP finish. I rode the Selle An-Atomica, model Titanico LD Clydesdale, in PBP. I rode self supported like you. Including PBP, I took a ferry to Le Havre from England, so I rode down to Paris, and back. I ended up with around 1100 miles during that 9-day period. I used your saddle for all the qualifiers as well. I’ve never ridden a more comfortable saddle. I also like having saddlebag hooks, unlike the Brooks Professional. Selle An-Atomica is the most comfortable saddle I’ve used. I rode PBP in 2003 too, and completed my first qualifying series in 2002. I’ve always used Brooks Professional, until this spring, when I switched to Selle An-Atomica. Sincerely, Jimmy W, Clemmons, NC

I have a Titanico saddle. Love the saddle so much I own two. I rode PBP and a brevet series this year and can‘t say enough good. Sincerely, John V, Rochester, WA

Well, I am just speechless. Last Saturday, when I rode 70 miles of hills on the saddle. I thought to myself "How could it possibly get any better than this?"  Last year, I rode 5000 miles, of which 3500 were on a Selle An-Atomica.  There is no way I would have done that on any other saddle with the level of pure enjoyment I experienced. I had pretty much determined that the price, even with the accidental bending and potential replacement cost was worth it to me. Bob D. Houston, TX

I want to test the saddle as early as possible for my PBP ride in August, would you please send out the saddle within today so that I may use the saddle this weekend.  Thank you very much in advance for your help. Best regards, Yao-Chang R, Taipei, Taiwan

I’m really enjoying my Titanico LD saddle, - it’s really comfortable. Furnace Creek 508 will be a dream. Regards, Jim G. San Francisco, CA

Tom, I am pleased with the comfort of the saddle. It performed better than I could have ever hoped for getting me through every inch of the PAC Tour northern transcontinental with ZERO saddle problems. I saw that my friend finished PBP so on his Selle-An-Atomica in comfort. Thanks for your help, Stuart S., VA

I still love your saddle. Most of the time, I don't feel it under me and that is something I can't say about any other saddle I have tried. Bruce D, Orange, CA

Just received your saddle a couple weeks ago, and wanted to let you know it has been a godsend... I have been riding 10 years now and have never been so comfortable on any saddle (and I have tired many). It fits just the way I have been wanting a saddle to fit! I was starting to worry that I would have to give up serious cycling, but I think those thoughts are now behind me. Will F, Granada, Spain

I can't say enough about my satisfaction of the new saddles! Thanks Charlie J., Sherman Bicycles, Sherman, TX

Hello! I waited for the start of El Tour du Tucson next to you. I was riding with our mutual friend, Bernie, the RAAM rider. Thanks for remembering me! Now I have a photo of me, in riding gear, flanked by two RAAM riders. And the photo was actually taken by the developer of the Selle An-Atomica! Talk about a brush with greatness! In our conversation that morning you mentioned that you'd communicated with people about problems with their "naughty bits". I responded that I was one of the women you'd conversed with on the topic. I wrote asking for recommendations, since I have so many problems with saddles. Including, but not limited to pudendal bleeding on rides shorter than a metric century. You recommended watershed Titanico. I questioned whether a different model, one that your web site described as being for harder back sides, would be in order. You had a woman write me and describe again the wonders of the saddle. Based on her and your recommendations (and the original recommendation from my friend PansyPalmetto on BikeJournal.com) I'm now the proud owner of TWO Selle An-Atomica Clydesdale Watershed Titanico saddles. The one I leave on my Sunday-go-to-meeting bike is fairing a bit better than the one on my commuter, the one you saw in Tucson. I'm in love with both saddles, compared to any other saddle I've ever ridden on. I'm copying some of the original posts to www.BikeJournal.com about the Selle An-Atomica. Just so you can see what people are saying about your product. Thanks again, Julie A. B., Phoenix, AZ

Dear Selle An-Atomica people, I have been using Selle An-Atomica. It is the ONLY saddle I can use for comfort, performance and endurance. Last year I did mainly time trial races and won all my races except one where I finished second. Next year I am planning to ride the Canadian Masters Road Championships (women age grouper) I was riding my Cervélo Soloist with aero bars. For next year I am buying an actual TT bike. Selle An-Atomica is the only saddle I can train and race without back pain and nerve irritation. I have tried about 8 or 9 other saddles and those plastic seats don't work for me. As I mentioned, my coach wanted me to get a different saddle for racing. That turned out to be sheer torture for me to the point of a back injury. With your saddles I can ride all day if I want to and my back won't stop me. I value your opinion as innovators in this field. Sincerely, Danielle H, Canada

I just bought my second Selle An-Atomica. I am thrilled with the first one that I just got Friday. I read your leaflet and rode it about 40 miles this weekend. Oh! How nice! It is the nicest saddle I have. Lewis L, Houston, TX

I have a Titanico saddle. I love the saddle and, indeed, own two. I rode PBP and a brevet series this year and can‘t say enough good. Sincerely, John V, WA

I have just taken delivery of my Titanico saddle. Wow, what a difference for all of the right reasons, and I haven’t even been on a long ride yet! Many thanks. Angus

Hi, I bought one of your saddles a couple of months ago. After a couple of 100k test/adjustment rides, I rode 600k on it last week (to complete my Super Randonneur audax award!) in great comfort - thank you! Many thanks, Juliet K, UK

Hi there Selle An-Atomica. I am a wildly satisfied customer, been riding my Titanico LD w/ Clydesdale laminate for many months now. Thanks! Noah

The recent thread on the randon message board reminded me that I needed to get in touch. First of all, it was great to meet you at PBP. I hope you had as great a time as I did. You came up behind me shortly after the start, introduced yourself, and gave me a pin. I said it then and I'll say it again - without the Selle An-Atomica I wouldn't have been at Paris Brest Paris. And I wouldn't have finished, either. Thanks a million for a great, great product. Thanks again, and I hope to see you again in 2011. BR

I have to say that the Watershed feature seems to work really well.  Never during all of PBP did the leather look wet. Water would bead up like on a well waxed car. Same goes for the leather handle bar cover. Leather handle bar covers retain good grip and comfort in a downpour, by the way. RB

I have a Clydesdale Watershed saddle (golden) with about 5,000 miles on it. It is on a Waterford touring bike, and I do daily rides of about 30 miles and some longer tours of several hundred miles like RAGBRAI. The saddle has been very, very comfortable. Thanks very much. Paul C, Iowa

Thanks' Tom, for the info! I have experimented for years on various types of saddles, with Ideale, Brooks (various types including the woman's type hat are wider on the rear part) and Avocet 02 W, and never quite successfully. I had no problem adjusting Selle An-Atomica height, angle and rotation! I am really amazed at the difference! It is like riding without feeling one's butt! It is like a pair of shoe that feels like slippers. Yet, the best part for me is the extra long rail (which the Brooks never has had!) which allows me push the saddle just enough to the back to be comfortable. I am 6'5" and my inseam is 40" to floor. I can't tell you enough: This seat is incredible and I am VERY thankful to have it on my custom-sized Bike Friday!!! After 13 years I needed the best seat in the world!!! Selle An-Atomica!!! Francois P.

First let me say your product is the best out there, thanks for the many miles of enjoyable riding. I can ride all day with no sore butt. I get off my bike and its like I’ve only ridden around the block instead of seventy five miles. Best investment for my bike I ever made. I have recommended this saddle to all that have asked about it and I would not buy anything else but this saddle again. Thanks for your time in looking at this and again thanks for a wonderful product. Jeffrey L, Plymouth, WI

Tom, I simply love your saddle and have never felt so comfortable or confident riding long distances. I thank you for your development of this product. I have around 400 pain free miles on it and now I can consider the longer endurance events. I'm very happy. Thanks again Tom! Don R, VP, Roh’s Inc.

Tom, You've made a great contribution to bicycle riding with this saddle. They should be standard equipment on all bicycles. After adjusting the tension I could feel the dramatic difference between the hammock and the suspension. While riding I put my hand underneath the saddle and noticed the suspension come into play much more strongly as the tension increased. You must've worked on this a long time. It's a dramatic improvement--no, it's the way saddles should've been designed from the beginning. Looking forward to another 95 mile ride without a sore butt. Van

Hi Tom, I am actually riding on your regular Selle An-Atomica right now. John S lent me one of his saddles because I had such pain during the Race Across Oregon. I have not put more than 90 minutes at a time on this saddle, but so far it feels magnificent. I would never have spent that kind of money on a saddle, but since I was able to rid on it for a week I am convinced. I will be ordering the Titanico LD Clydesdale from you soon. Thanks, Glenn J, Vancouver

Dear Tom, I am the happy owner of two of your saddles already. Never fear, as soon as the special ostrich material is in please contact me and I will order a saddle. Thanks, Bill S.

I've just purchase your Titanico LD and love it! I've tried it on both my road and mtn bike and will likely leave it on the mtn bike. Regards, Bradley L.

I’ve bought recently a Selle An-Atomico and I’m very pleased. I’ve toured all the Alps with it. Many thanks. Jean-Pierre, Switzerland

Hi Tom: Wow! You read my mind. The saddle was great and several people asked about it. I relaxed the tension once and certainly should have done so as the day went along. The saddle rotation was critical for me as well -- it looked over-rotated to the left when viewed from the rear but I could feel pressure on the left side more so than the right so that worked fine. I did move around a fair bit so the extra length was appreciated. Of the saddles I've used for the Death Ride, this was by far the best. Thanks for a great product and your continued interest in how it works. My husband is really looking forward to his saddle since he had a lot of soreness after Death Ride from the Brooks. Mt Tam Century (new in 2007) is next. Thanks again for all your help. Anne, Northern California

Tom, I ordered two Titanico saddles from you. I just wanted to let you know that they are OUTSTANDING!! Absolutely the most comfortable saddles I have ever owned. I probably have 500 miles of riding now between the two, including a couple 50+ mile trips with no soreness at all. You definitely get the award for creating the closest thing to a "perfect" saddle for me. I'd like to special order two more saddles. I'm going to put one on my third bike and keep the fourth one as a spare. Once again, thank you for working with me on this. Your saddles are wonderful. Regards, Bill M

Tom, I have two of your wonderful saddles. I did not want to believe how much better they are than anything else I have ridden, but this past weekend cleared that all up. I rode the TOMRV in Iowa. It is a two day 110/88mile supported ride. Last year I rode it on my Hampsten / Moots cross bike with YBB rear suspension and Fizik Aliante. I suffered. This year riding my Kirk Terraplane and An-Atomica saddle I didn't. It was NIGHT AND DAY! The comfort was astounding. Even when hammering in a pace line I felt comfortable, soft peddling felt like I was sitting on an easy chair at home! Thanks again for a great product, now I only wish you could make a lighter and sportier version appropriate for racing! RichTom, Thank you so much for designing such a great product.  We love our saddles!  My wife looked at it when it came out of the box and said, “are you sure about this.” I said, "sit don't think." So, after our first ride, am calling my saddle Stella and Barbara is calling her saddle Stan.  Barbara road along singing the James Brown classic "I FEEL GOOD". I will have to say that I have never ridden a saddle that was so instantly comfortable.  Our real problem now is that we will have to purchase 4 more for the rest of our bikes. Regards, Lance W.

"I called to thank you. We carry Selle An-Atomica in our store [servicing road, tri athlete and mtb riders] and I ride them personally. It is the only product in our store [all products including saddles] that lives up to the advertising. More to my point, it is far better than the advertising. You should be proud." Sam.

Tom, Great information. Appreciate your time and experience, and that you are willing to share it. I will check out the insoles. Will keep you posted.
Tom Mont.

Tom, I spoke with you a few months back. You were very helpful in assisting me with my new An-Atomica. It is the best saddle I have ever sat my butt on. I was just about ready to give up long distance riding when I came across this saddle. One of our local bike shops, Bike Pro, is now carrying the Selle An-Atomica. A riding partner, Rick Ogan, has just purchased two...I think directly from your website. So....I should probably invest in your company. Thanks again for a great saddle!
Gary

Tom, Thanks! I'm liking the saddles! This is my second.........

Tom - Yesterday I rode my first century (ever) and I used my new Titanico saddle. I installed it the day before, and only rode it five miles as a test and to adjust it. I was convinced it was worth taking the risk on the long ride the next day. I'm glad I did. The only part of me that doesn't hurt today is my butt! I love this thing and am ordering two more for our tandem.
Darell

Thanks Tom, I used one of your saddles right out of the box for the Sebring 12/24 Hour race February 17-18, 2007. As expected, no problems with it at all. You have a very good product that helped me win the Men's Solo Class one full lap ahead of 2nd place finisher!
Sincerely, John J: )

Hi Tom, I talked to you a couple weeks ago on the phone and I just wanted to report that I did finally get my new saddle (Selle An-Atomica). I went to Richardson Bike Mart (Dallas/Richardson TX area) and bought the last one they had. My first ride of any kind with this saddle was a little gutsy – a century on a tandem, and it was only my second tandem ride ever (that is a whole other story, and riding tandem is a whole new feeling and experience)! I was really happy with the saddle and it really works well on the back of the tandem. Now that I have it adjusted perfectly, I dare not touch it and move it to my single bike. I am now saving money to get another for my single bike! It was very comfortable on the booty from the first moment, and throughout the ride. The “cookie” will go through some “getting used to it,” however. But it will be worth it in the long run, I have no doubt. Anyway, I wanted to mainly say THANK YOU to both you and Pam Wright. Both of you have a lot of time and effort invested in these saddles. I appreciate that even more now, and I understand why you are both passionate about them. I am really happy with it and definitely recommend it. Sharon S., Dallas, TXSelle An-Atomica Titanico LD Watershed Saddle on a Monocog Mtb (29er)

<confession>I added Monocog 29er to the title to pretend like there is some 29er content.<confession>

A little over a month ago I got a Selle An-Atomica saddle for my birthday and quickly stuck it on my Monocog. I'd read Rainman's write up a couple of months ago (I think he actually took some undeserved flak over it because it was such a positive review) and decided to try one out.

I purposely waited until I had a number of rides and a couple of hundred miles on the saddle before I posted here because I wanted to give it a fair shot. I just got back from a chilly winter/night ride and decided it was time to post.

This is a fantastic saddle!

It took me several rides to get it adjusted and to get used to it, but since then it's been great! I got the non-waterproof leather--because it was a little cheaper, looks great, I rarely ride in wet weather, and I enjoy tinkering with my bikes so the little extra maintenance is not an issue. I'm amazed at how comfortable this saddle has become so quickly. I was using a very light Douglas Carbon saddle before which is also a very comfortable saddle, but this one has it beat by a long-shot.

It's not too wide so I haven't had any issues getting off the back on descents, and although I was initially worried about getting hung up on the nose of the saddle (which is a little busy), it hasn't been the case so far.

I had some very minor issues early on and the support has been first class. As is the case with Rainman--I have absolutely no connection with this company, nor do I know anyone who works there. It's just a very nice product for a good price with great support! It has made my already great bike even nicer to ride.

I'll post again when I've really put some miles on this thing to let you know how it holds up, but for now I really couldn't be happier.

Thanks for the [previous] review. Interestingly enough I did a ride with Tom from Selle An-Atomica on X-mas day and my saddle broke. I was riding a Selle Italia Saddle (SLR Gel Flow). This makes for my 4rth broken saddle in the last two years which have been either Specialized or Selle Italia. I tend to do a lot of seated climbs and use Thomson seatposts. I'll either crack the rails (fatigue) or break the plastic rear rail mounts. I've since switched to the Performance Forte SLX which is cheap, light, and has the ergo cutout. Tom pointed out the Thomson rails are not all that long when compared to some other seat posts out there so the load is not distributed along the rails as well as it could be.

Anyway Tom let me ride his Seven for a while and his saddle was quite comfortable. I had a couple of tensioned rail Salsa saddles a few years back but unfortunately sold them when I turned over the bikes they were on. With the tensioned rails and the cut out I can imagine this is a great saddle and hope to get one to test sometime soon. They even have a Ostrich skin model for all the bling lovers out there.

Interesting... I did cop a little bit of 'flak' for my glowing review on the An-Atomica, but it never worried me. Let me say that when I find a product that I really like, one that I consider to be a step forward in promoting good design and comfort for riders, I like to get behind it and recommend it.

I have always thought that the points where we contact the bike to be of the utmost importance, not only in controlling the bike, but feeling comfortable as we ride. The An-Atomica saddles that I tested were a real step forward in comfort and stress-relief for me, so much so that I removed my much loved and ridden Brooks saddles and replaced them with the Selle An Atomica's. I really believe in this saddle. I have never had a more comfortable saddle than this one.

I ride a lot of miles both off road and on. I think that this saddle is a breakthrough in design over what we previously had. In my mind, there is nothing more irritating than an uncomfortable saddle. A saddle that hurts your genitals or backside whenever you ride it is one of the biggest reasons more people don't like to ride bikes, imo.

I am totally sold on the An-Atomica. I love the way it feels, the ride it gives, the comfort and the appearance. I have NO affiliation or connection with the company either. I purchased mine just like everyone else does. I highly recommend this saddle for all types of riders and all types of riding. It is that good.. On my HT bikes, it's like a leather bum-hammock. So comfy.. Rainman.

I'm not sure why I ordered the Brooks based Robusto after riding it and your Wisconsin made Titanico. I just got back from a week long bike trip (Bike Ride Across Tennessee) and put 430 pretty darn comfortable miles on my Titanico. I never thought I could stay on a saddle as long as I have stayed on that one. I'm not putting anything else on my bike. I'll probably buy another one soon just for insurance. Keep up the good work. SLA quick update. Got my saddle back a few weeks ago, and the rivet is perfect this time! I have been riding it since and not a single problem with loosing tension. Had to switch back to one of my Brooks B17s while it was being repaired and there is no comparison. Your saddle is definitely more comfortable. Great product!! George

Kris and I just returned from a cross country trip on Selle AN-Atomica. We went 3,100+ miles and had no problems with our backsides. It was the most comfortable saddle we have ever used during decades of ultra cycling. R & KL, Sacramento, CA

Personally, I can't imagine owning any other saddle at this point. Whenever I'm stopping for water on a ride I almost always have someone ask me about the saddle. Some comment on the looks, others ask about the cut-out, and a few always ask the inevitable "how does it compare to a Brooks" question. I also get people asking if it's a vintage saddle. They're surprised to learn it's actually more modern than my Campy carbon fiber brake levers!
Thanks, Chris L., REI, Fraud Investigation Team

I have one statement...loved my Selle An-Atomica!!! :-) Wow. I logged 1200 miles and didn't have a single saddle issue. I didn't even have one mile that was uncomfortable! The RAAM adventure / miles were more comfortable than I have ever experienced during any 100 mile ride around town. It was great to meet you. Thank you for all your advice and pointers prior to our departure on RAAM. It was a wonderful experience. I'm ready to do it again next year! One very happy customer!
Brenda Barnell – Stoker / Team JDRF 2006 RAAM Mixed Tandem class WINNERS.

I am in recovery mode these days, contemplating our achievement. Selle An-Atomica was so comfortable my stoker and I did more pulls and more RAAM miles than the team planned. Saddle comfort and position on the bike are certainly key to success in RAAM and for any casual cyclist. Thanks to your saddle, Brenda was blissfully comfortable on the bike so she really put out and pedaled like mad. The special nature of Selle An-Atomica design and construction allowed us to switch positions on the bike without changing saddles later in the race. The time you spent with us on the phone and at the start prior to the RAAM made me feel as though you were part of my crew. You paid attention to the details of seat height, tilt, rotation, and tension settings that enabled me to race and win in RAAM again. I believe that anyone who finishes RAAM is a winner! This year was my 6th Team RAAM and third tandem team in RAAM. Danny Chew refers to me as the most versatile team RAAM rider due to my 6 different category finishes and three different RAAM team records. That said I remain forever grateful for your dedication to saddle R&D and our ultimate comfort on the bike. If there is anything I can do to speak out for your saddles and service please let me know as I would be delighted to support Selle An-Atomica in any meaningful fashion.
Thanks, Tim Skipper - Team Captain / Team JDRF 2006 RAAM Mixed Tandem class WINNERS.

Tom, I could KISS you!!!
How many do I have to sell before you send me another Selle An-Atomica!!!! (Big Grin!!!)
I'm ashamed, but I succumbed to peer pressure Friday night. About a dozen riders kept telling me I was nuts to ride a new saddle for this 400k brevet. I kept saying "but you don't understand this saddle or HOW much pain I'm in on the other brands I use." Well, I figured thousands of RUSA miles probably knew better, so we changed saddles at 10:30pm, with a 4:30 wake-up call – ugh. At 60 miles, I was miserable. At 100, I was almost afraid to change. Worried I'd waited too long and the switch would make things worse I stopped and installed my new Selle An-Atomica Titanico LD Watershed. WHAT RELIEF!!!! I could feel the saddle moving under me. I cried for a minute out of just sheer relief. Dan was convinced I would have to switch back at some point, but NO WAY.

I may've already sold 2 more!! A guy on the ride couldn't ask enough questions and one of the gals kept touching it at controls. There's even a discussion on one of the yahoo groups about saddles, so I copied you on my input to that line!

Tom, your saddle has changed my biking world. After going through SO many saddles, I was resigning myself to shorter rides and/or no long rides at all after this randonneur series wraps up in 3 weeks. Thanks to the Selle An-Atomica those thoughts are buried!! I can't wait to heal up and get out there and not give my saddle a single thought. What bliss that will be. If you want a North TX independent, I'm your gal. I'm going to wear your website out passing the word around. Huge thanks for the time and cheers. The next biggee is 600k Memorial Wknd and that saddle ain't going NOWHERE except onto the new Seven Ellium bike!
Pam W, Fort Worth, TX

I just finished my first ever 400k on my new Selle An-Atomica and it's the one for me.

Like I'm reading from all of you (women cyclist web chat), I've been going through saddle hell. I'm new to randonneuring and my lovely Blackwell saddle, which was great for tri's maybe 100miles, fell miserably short otherwise. I've gone through at least 10 saddles in the last 3 months (and about 1800? miles). I had the saddle sores, inflammation, soreness, numbness, rawness, you name it...I had it. Like other readers, I only bought returnable saddles (Terry, Team Estrogen and my LBS all let me return - I went through Terry, Brooks, Serfas, Fizik, Specialized...)

I was beginning to think I'd have to quit ultra-cycling. (My new fella was beginning to think the same thing!) I found Selle An-Atomica last week - scoured the website - talked with the designer and thought "why not, I've got nothing to lose - I'M DESPERATE!!!!"

Saddle showed up the night before leaving - got to ride 25 miles right quick and grinned most of it. (When I wasn't crying out of relief...if you've been there, YOU know what I mean) Got talked out of riding it for my 400k Saturday (peer pressure sucks when you're new!), but took it with me. Best thing I ever did! Switched to the SA 100miles into the ride & finished beautifully. Probably wasn't the smartest thing to ride 250+ miles in a new saddle, but my seat bones are glad! Still sore, still beat up, but I'm not raw & bleeding and it WAS 250+miles in Texas hills!!!

Might not work for you, but I'm going to do my best to spread the word. Good Luck with your search...just keep looking!

Tommmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm,
I'm STILL grinning!! Saddle arrived just as our office was closing, so I was able to use it last night on my 30mile spin - Yippeeeeeeeeeeeee!!! My boyfriend thinks I'm completely nuts (actually he's almost mad at me) but my plan right now is to use it on my first-ever 400k TOMORROW!!!!

Obviously still tweaking the fit, but I got on and it felt better than what I’ve been riding for years! If this works for me, the group will get SICK of hearing about it this wknd. Ha Ha. If you have a frequent rider program, you better let me know what it is!!

My fantasy would be to let you Monday that I'm an addict and need more - I've got every finger, toe and "misc anatomy" crossed!!!!

I thought I was riding on a pillow first time out on my new saddle.

I have over 1,000 miles on my first Selle An-Atomica. It is the best saddle I have tried in my life (57 years). I rode the Chilly Hilly last week along with 4,000 other bikers and had several folks admiring the current saddle. Looking forward to arrival of the new order.
Thanks again, MS, Seattle

I have about 300mi on the Watershed saddle. So far, so good. I'm impressed. What's it going to feel like after break in? (a life long Brooks rider) Even better? Jeez, that would be incredible.
Cheers, RH, FSA USA

Last Saturday was 34 degrees and sunny. I was able to get in my first ride on the new Selle An-Atomica. After making a few small adjustments within the first few miles, I concluded that your seat was the single best investment I've made on any bike. I was able to get the proper set back dialed in. Something I couldn't accomplish with a Brooks and I didn't need to break your saddle in. I settled into a comfortable sweet spot and quickly found myself unaware I was sitting on anything. I had absolutely no discomfort at the end of the ride. I am really looking forward to a great riding season!
Thanks for you continued R&D and a superior product, DA, Sun Prairie, WI
PS - I’m keeping the second saddle we purchased, need you to sell me a third for my son in California.

The pain and discomfort of the saddle that came with my brand new Giant 0CR 3 [Fi'zi:k Vitesse] nearly caused me quit riding. Your saddle is excellent and from the very first ride it was totally great. It has also been a great point of interest to other more experienced riders I have come into contact with. Thank you so much.
Kind Regards. PR, Tasmania, Australia

I have to tell you how happy I am with the saddle. It is the most comfortable, right out of the box, than any I've had in 40 years of cycling! Six years ago I switched to a recumbent because of saddle and neck issues but have grown tired of being left in the dust on climbs! So I decided to try once more. I think your saddle is the ticket! I had a Brooks years ago but never fully "broke it in" to where it was comfortable. I'm looking forward to my rides now! Hope you can get the word out!

I wanted to touch base and let you know how it's going. All my bike shorts now have two shiny spots where my sit bones are in contact with the saddle [due to correct weight bearing realized only after using Selle An-Atomic saddle & handlebar adjustment procedures]. My bones are wide - almost to the outside of the chamois. The saddle is great. It garners a lot of attention. The first thing people say is "Wow, a Brooks with a cut out!" Then they see it's not a Brooks. Everyone first pushes the leather around the cut out with their thumb, and then they rap the seat a couple of times with their knuckles. I tell everyone how awesome it is.

Thank you for your extra effort, going the extra mile. Knowing I have the [Mt. Washington Bicycle Hill Climb] gearing solved is a big relief! [Titanium 12-30 cassette, FSA Compact Crankset 33-48 chainrings] Enjoy your weekend. I'll be riding a lot. Hope you will be too.

I finished the century ride with no problems at all; 5 hr 51 minutes ride time 17.1 mph. The first time in more than a decade I've been able to ride an upright bike and do any meaningful distance thanks to my Selle An-Atomica Robusto LD.
KK, Green Bay, WI

Spent some time adjusting my Robusto as you suggested. Made a big improvement. I guess because it was so much better than the other saddles in my garage I was complacent about it. Thanks for the input. Did a rolling terrain charity ride this morning, 75 miles at 17.6 MPH and NO KNEE PAIN. Yahoo. Without drafting, that is hammering for me.

600k went just fine and was through beautiful (if hilly) country. It's hard to tell how the saddle would have felt, had I had it at best tension for the whole event. Anyway, my butt was no worse off than my feet. Thanks for all your work on the saddle. I may be sending you my third Brooks [for application of your patent design] at some stage.
Nick B, VA

Thank you for your quick and thorough response. I am going to make your recommended adjustments and additions and try again. Tony
You might also want to check out Selle An-Atomica. There's this guy [company with patented designs] in California who chops out the middle of a Brooks saddle. I currently ride the "Robusto" model, which is based off of the Brooks Professional. This has all the virtues of a Brooks (it started off life that way), but is cut out for [anatomic relief which provides] softer support. I've had mine for a few months here in Seattle... I just need a decent cover for it in the rain. I use plastic grocery bags now. [Bad boy, please use our Snow Proof brand Waterproof paste.]

I saw your saddles in the Rivendell Reader. Also went online to learn more. I want one of these lovely saddles.
Thanks, Rinni R

I'm so pleased that your saddles are flying off the shelves. But I'm not surprised because your saddle is the most comfortable I've ridden in 35 years of cycling. Some day--when I can afford it--I'd like to get your lightest racing seat for my Cinelli. In red of course. Hope you are thriving.
Bob Y, NJ

Thanks for your prompt reply. I am 64 years old ride regularly on an Easy Racers recumbent as well as my road bike. I am now into cruising and ride 35 to 50 miles a day two to three days a week in the summer. I am thinking about some modifications to my road bike along the lines a more upright riding position since speed is no longer as important to me. Would you advise a wider saddle? I learned of your work in the Rivendell Reader. [Later communication.] Your saddle arrived and is installed. I think this was a good move. I'll report back.
Terry G., KC

After a complete re-fit [followed Selle An-Atomica saddle & handlebar adjustment procedures], new handle bars, stem and lowering my seat an inch, the saddle is great! I am trying to get used to this new position and I think it's going to be good. I feel like I'm finally sitting on my sit bones instead of just to the inside of them. I've done 120 miles on it and it's starting to feel like an old friend instead of my enemy. Thanks for your help and we will probably be ordering one for my husband soon!
Amy, MA

I have one of your Titanico ED saddles (black, standard) and am very pleased. It breaks in faster than I expected and is quite comfortable before the 250 mile mark. I have a new bike as a gift and want to use a Titanico with titanium rails in honey brown. Is that possible? Regardless, I'm glad your reworking of an old standard is successful. Beats the alternative - a commercial flop.
Thanks, Peter, Philly PA

Thanks for the quick reply. You should be out riding (Sunday). I have struggled with finding a seat and even gave up cycling for a few years. When I saw your video I new this was something special. Looking forward to trying it out and providing another success story.
Respectfully, Brian B, Germany

Prostate Massage--Biopsy? I've been on two 30 mile bicycle rides in the last two weeks, which is pretty amazing, since I've been unable to ride at all for the last four months. I'm using the Selle An-Atomica leather saddles, which can be found on the web. I recommend them highly.
Anonymous sufferer in Los Angeles.

Dear Dr. Osteopath, I PURCHASED A SEAT FROM YOU, DO YOU HAVE OTHERS? IT'S THE BEST I'VE EVER BOUGHT. THANKS
Thank you, Linda M, Kansas

The saddle arrived today; it looks like a real work of art. Thanks again.
Mike M, Kansas
PS. I enjoyed talking to you on the phone.

Thanks for all the cassette info. It's good to talk with someone who not only sells this stuff, but rides a lot on the stuff they sell, esp. with some long climbs. I've played with the calculator (which is really cool, by the way) and have come up with the Campagnolo 10 speed. Let's go ahead and order that for Xmas...
Thanks, Scott

The saddle is working great for me. My search for a comfortable long distance saddle is over! I have about 10 hours on it and it is starting to break in. The nose up strategy really worked. The load on my hands is substantially less. One question, what do I do with all the old saddles I purchased in my quest to find a comfortable saddle, prior to finding yours?
Thanks again for a great product. Bob S, Milford, MI

Good to hear from you. I haven’t had a chance to ride the saddles yet. We did put one on a bike, and Sheldon Brown, who was here visiting after Interbike, rode it up Mt. Diablo with Grant. He liked it, except the red dye transferred to his shorts!
Cheers, John, Rivendell Bicycle Works

Yesterday I did a short ride on my new Selle An-Atomica saddle. I am impressed by it. It was far more comfortable on the first ride than I had expected. I tinkered with the tilt/nose elevation, but as you say, a small change makes a subtle difference in shifting weight between hands and butt. I'll need more time to find the best setting.
