Duh, what saddle?

I never had REAL problems with saddles but I DEFINITELY knew they were part of the bike after a few hours of riding and had tried a number of them in the past. I had heard about the Selle An-Atomica through some friends and found a used one on e-Bay last year. I check my mail on Saturday night after work and found it had arrived! I thought I would put it on my bike and give it a try. I got up early on Sunday for a 111 mile club ride and saw my club’s president at the start. I showed her my new saddle and told her I just got it in last night’s mail and this would be my first ride on it. She sadly shook her head and told me one never tries out a new saddle on a century ride. We arrived at the finish 8 hours later and she asked me about the new saddle. Oh, yeah, I had a new saddle and just rode 111 miles on it. Funny thing was I had forgotten about it. That is just about the best thing I can say about the Selle An-Atomica. I now have three Selles, one for each of my bicycles. Thanks for your saddles, I hardly ever think about them any more!!

Things I Like: Selle An-Atomica Titanico Saddle

Our friend Mark over at gravelbike.com has posted an awesome review of the Titanico.
When I evaluate a component, my ultimate measure of success is whether or not I’d purchase a second one. Selle An-Atomica’s Titanico saddle is one of those rare products where I didn’t have to think twice about purchasing a second one.

Saddle for Prostate Cancer Survivors
05/09/11 07:57 Filed in: Health
On December 7, 2010 I had my prostate removed and believed that even though I was free of cancer, and still am, I would not be able to ride again with my wife. After 3 months I could not take being off the tandem so I got an adjustable split seat from my friend Ric Becker at House of Tandems. This worked in that I could ride without affecting the surgery location, but the seats width was not comfortable on long rides. That August at the Hotter than Hell ride, I met Meredith from Selle An-Atomica and she let me test ride one of her saddles. With her guarantee I gave it a try and I don't have enough space to say how great it is. My wife and stoker, has been on a Selle An-Atomica for 4 years after a half dozen other seats. She was to the point of giving up riding due to the soreness and pain until she got her saddle. Not a complaint since! This saddle has made our riding much more enjoyable. The best part of dealing with Selle An-Atomica is not only the best saddle made but the people behind the company are as good as their product.
